FAQ's
How much does a
class cost?
Because individual instructors independently own Jazzercise
classes, there is no set rate. Many instructors offer a special rate
for new customers on their first purchase. See our
price
page.
What are the
instructors' credentials?
Jazzercise instructors participate in an intensive screening
process as well as training and certification program, and are CPR
certified. Instructors also continue their education in all aspects
of dance and physiology to keep abreast of the latest developments
in fitness.
Do new sessions
begin at certain times, or can I start anytime?
Registration is ongoing on a drop-in basis. Start anytime.
See
class times. Classes are often a mixture of new customers and customers who have
been doing Jazzercise for a long time.
Do I need special
clothes or equipment?
Any loose, comfortable clothes are fine. Most people wear shorts,
sweatpants, capris or jazz pants and a bra top or T-shirt. Bring
along a towel or exercise mat for the floor work. Good, rubber-soled
aerobic shoes are recommended.
Do I need weights?
Weights are optional for new customers. We recommend you
familiarize yourself with the basic exercises and techniques before
using light (3-5lb.) weights. At the N.B.C.C. we have mats,
hand-held and wrap-around leg weights available for your free use.
How often should I
exercise?
If you are new to exercise, begin with 2-3 classes a week and
gradually add classes. To increase your fitness level, work out 4-5
times per week.
May children
participate in a Jazzercise class?
You must pay, register and sign a release form for each child who
participates in class. It is the sole discretion of the Instructor
as to what is the age range for participation in class.
Is childcare
available?
Some facilities provide childcare for a nominal fee for
non-participating children. At the N.B.C.C., we offer childcare for
$1 per child per class at 4:30pm on Tuesday and Thursdays. If you have a babysitter who would like to make a few
extra dollars, please have them contact Instructor Kris Rooke at
kfrooke@aol.com,
we are always looking for good people to expand the childcare
program..
Where do I store
personal belongings?
Please do not store purses, clothing, towels, or other belongings
where they will present a safety hazard. Do not leave valuables
anywhere where you would consider it at risk for loss. Jazzercise is
not responsible for personal property.
May I bring drinks
and food to a class?
We recommend Jazzercisers bring a non-breakable water bottle with
a lid to class. Prevent accidents and spillage by keeping drinks out
of the way of other Jazzercisers. No food or gum, please.
